Edit: Have a temporary solution where he re added me as a Child and is granting permissions. Still looking for permanent solutions that don't involve him linking our accounts.
Edit2: Fixed the problem by having said friend re add me as a child, change all the settings to all permissions granted through the family section, and then removing me from the account. Hope this helps anyone that has this problem I was playing a game with my friend on his Xbox One and he forgot one of his accounts' passwords so I figured I would just log into my Microsoft account since it would make sense if it worked. For some reason, it asked to make him my parent account, and at the time, I didn't see any problem with that. He set my restrictions to none and we moved on.
Now that I'm home, I can't seem to open Google Chrome because it tells me I need to ask for permission: I called my friend and he removed me from the family using his Microsoft account, but I still get this message. I have seen many forum posts on this but few have any answers despite being from over 2 years ago. If I try to ask by email now when opening Chrome, I get this error: My Microsoft account no longer shows me as part of any family, and I have even deleted the wpcmon.exe 'Family Safety Monitor' that seemed to have been stopping me. This is very frustrating and any help would be useful. I am using Windows 10 Home.
